EMINA PRODUCTS REVIEW: ARE THEY WORTH TO TRY?

Hello lovelies! Today I have some products from another local makeup brand, Emina.
If I’m not mistaken, this brand is a sister brand of Wardah. I feel it’s more like a younger sister version of that brand, that might cater to younger audience as well. I tried out three of their products when they were on sale, so let’s get down to it, shall we?

STAR LASH AQUA MASCARA

I ran out of my Maybelline Magnum Barbie mascara, so I thought I’d pick this one out to try. The brush is a bit long—too long for my eyes, really—and it’s also a bit skinnier than some mascara brushes that I’ve tried before. The formula is SO. VERY. WET. Like, it’s trying to live up to its name, really. First time trying to apply it to my lashes was nightmare. I blinked right after and it transferred immediately to my under eye area. Because the formula is wet, it feels really heavy on the lashes and it doesn’t hold up the curls really well. After a few uses, the formula has gotten a bit less watery and I enjoy it quite a bit. It’s nice for every day, natural lashes look, which I don’t really care for that much, since I love my lashes to be the thickest it could be, even for everyday ;)

BEAUTY BLISS BB CREAM

I’m going to be honest with you guys and just tell you straight away that this BB cream is probably the worst that I’ve tried so far. I think there were only three or four shades, and I picked up the Natural one. At its best, it’s an O.K. BB cream. The formula is a bit thick; you can obviously feel it on your skin because it doesn’t really sink in. I have an oily-combo skin and as my face gets greasier, the formula separated and eventually completely disappeared from my face. Also, the next day I found little white bumps on my skin and I’m not one to be sensitive to new products. So no, I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone, even if you’re just starting to build a makeup collection. An alternative to that—which is more expensive but much better and worth every cent of it—would be the L’Oreal BB Match. Let me know if you want a review on that!

CITY CHIC CC CAKE

I’m not a huge fan of compact powder to begin with, but I thought why not try this one since it was so affordable. I got the shade Buttercup which I’m not sure if it’s the perfect shade for my skin tone. To be honest the pressed powder feels hard and sort of chalky. It doesn’t really blend in to the skin, and it doesn’t really set anything either. It doesn’t keep my face from getting oily throughout the day, and it settles into my smile lines. I don’t know if I got a dud or something, because I know some people who love this product and use it daily. I don’t really want to put it on my face anymore after trying it two or three times, but maybe one day I will use it again if I’m running out of setting powder and don’t have any back up. Just like the BB cream, this CC powder is an O.K. product, although it’s not as disappointing.

So that’s my review for a handful of Emina products! I really want to try their liquid lipsticks next, they seem to have some interesting shades in that collection. Have you tried any of them, or other product from this brand? If so, what do you think and what would you recommend? Let me know in the comments, and I hope you’ll be back for my next post!
